Nicole Shepherd is a medical illustrator and interactive developer. She received her Master of Science in Biomedical Visualization (BVIS) at the University of Illinois at Chicago in December 2021. Nicole grew up in the Chicago suburbs and attended the American Academy of Art downtown where she graduated as valedictorian with a BFA in Illustration.
As an undergraduate student, Nicole worked primarily with traditional media or digital illustration, but her skills and interests have expanded throughout her time at BVIS. She has gained a passion for 3D modeling and interactive development and seeks out a career in the emerging field of interactive media and virtual reality. She considers herself a lifelong learner and feels fortunate that she has found a field that caters to this pursuit of knowledge.
Outside of work, Nicole is a dedicated dog mom with a passion for traveling and exploring nature. In her spare time, she likes to build upon her traditional media skills, walk the trails with her dog, or read a good book.
