I received a phone call yesterday from a friend of mine, who’s name I won’t mention, but I do her hair and she lives very close by! Oh, and she is blonde, not that that has anything to do with this though. ;-) Anyway, it went something like this: Her:  You know how Vitamin E capsules are good for your skin if you break them and rub them on your face and cuts and stuff? Me:  Oh ya, I’ve heard of that. Her:  Well, I decided to break a Fish Oil capsule open [insert me starting to crack up here] and rub it under my eyes. Me:  What?! The smell had to have been horrific and you put it on your face?! (it is a smell that is not easily gotten rid of either) Her:  OMG and yes and it was right before I was getting ready for bed! I had no idea they smelled that bad! Needless to say I thought it was hysterical and thought it needed to be shared. And, for all of you out there that didn’t know that Fish Oil smells, and smells bad, it does and do not put it on your face unless ...

Sell with Scentsy~ I love this time of year with Scentsy! It is a little chaotic but so much fun at the parties and vendor shows, meeting lots of new people and getting bookings that will be in the coming “new year”. So strange when I have to write down a date and put 2012. Where does the time go?! Scentsy is growing by leaps and bounds and with the launch of a new product line (coming this Spring), I can only forsee even greater things ahead for Scentsy. And no, I have no idea what the new line will be and yes it is driving me mad that I don’t know! :-) One thing I do know, is that Orville and Heidi Thompson have taken this company from 1 Independent Consultant in 2004 when it joined the Direct Selling Association to over 100,000 Consultants throughout the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam, Canada, and Europe. They have generated over $900 million in revenue and continue to grow.  Obviously, they do not make poor decisions so I have complete faith that the new product line is going to be just as awesome. A Product that sells itself~ Since I have been selling ...

I am back as promised with the “Secret” anti aging strategies for the ladies in their 50′s and 60′s. Each part of the face ages differently as does each person. Some people luck out with amazing genetics and some don’t and unfortunately there is nothing we can do about that. When making decisions about what procedures you might do remember it is all about balance. You don’t want to just focus on your eyes and ignore your cheeks or brows and have them being weighted down from gravity. Wouldn’t look right now would it? The best thing you can do is to address each of your features at the right time, when you are starting to really notice the changes that are happening. That way your face will age as a whole. Let’s dig in with what happens during our 50′s and 60′s. Anti Aging Plan For Your Fifties and Sixties ~ Once again there are 3 not so happy things that start in our 50′s & 60′s: Droopy brows from the brow line being deflated which gives you a tired look The lowest part of your face changes significantly because volume is lost and the skin becomes loose And ...

I am going to start these anti-aging strategies first for you ladies in your 30′s. That way I get to say that I am still in my 30′s too, even if only for a couple more months. That’s ok though, I am actually the only one out of my friends who is looking forward to her 40′s. My 30′s have been hell and I am ready for the next phase of my life. And just so you know these strategies are about having facial procedures done at an earlier age so that you can combat how you will eventually age and look in the future. So let’s get started! Anti Aging Plan For Your 30′s ~ There are 3 fun things that  start happening during our thirties: Lines and wrinkles start to form around the eyes, mouth, and forehead Slight bags may become more noticeable and darker, and Your skin starts to lose it’s volume (baby fat) These are the 3 things that you could do to slow the aging process down: Botox, dysport or fillers ~ Starting these in your 30′s is becoming a common practice now. I mean really, who doesn’t have an “11″ or a “1″ between ...

Who doesn’t love a smoothie? I am not talking about the ones from McDonalds or Jamba Juice, not that those aren’t tasty, but they can be loaded with sugar and calories, not to mention they are pretty expensive. For the cost of a couple of those smoothies you can buy everything you need and make your own everyday for 2 or 3 weeks. Plus, you can load them up with hidden veggies like spinach or kale, which are great for your skin, and you won’t even know they are in there except, of course, for the color. Here is one of my favorite anti-aging, not to mention weight loss, green smoothies ~ The “Green” Blast. You can also add spirulina or ground flax to this as well for extra protein and fiber. DRINK YOUR WAY TO BETTER SKIN WITH THE “GREEN” BLAST SMOOTHIE (Serves 2 to 3) 1/2 cup strawberries (frozen if out of season) 1 banana 1/2 cup blueberries (frozen if out of season) 1/2 cup mango (frozen) 2 to 3 handfuls of fresh spinach or kale 2 Tbls. Flaxseed Oil (keeps the wrinkles away) Splash of OJ and/or water 2 to 4 large ice cubes if you aren’t using ...

First off, I have to say that I haven’t exercised/worked out in about 7 months and to be really honest, I didn’t really have a desire to start back up again. Why? Because I am tired of working out and exercising! I know that is no excuse since everyone who is reading this is saying the same thing, but that is my “why” and I am sticking with it. Kids, work, family issues, financial strain, etc., they are all zapping my energy and I just haven’t cared that much to exercise or worry about my body. I have worked out for years so I know how very important it is, and I know that if I just start doing it that my energy will increase and I will look forward to it and I might actually start getting a full night’s sleep again….. awww sweet sleep, how I have missed you. Oddly enough, during one of my sleepless nights I came across an infomercial about “The Firm Express”. Their claim was that you only have to work out 3 days for 20 minutes at a time! I thought to myself, “Hey you lazy ass, you have done a lot more ...

Since I am a bit obsessed about anti aging products and I do hair, it only seems logical to talk about anti-aging hair color. Some of my lucky friends aren’t going gray yet [bitches, you know who you are]. They know I am just kidding, sort of.  As for me, I am 35 percent gray and unfortunately that number is just going to continue to climb. Thankfully, I am in the business, so trying different shades isn’t that pricey for me, nor is the every 3 week touch-up for these little bastards, I mean stubborn gray hairs. I have been every shade, with the exception of the more “vibrant colors”, there is to be. There are two that work well with my skin tone and that is something everyone must remember when choosing hair color, especially as we get older come into our own. The tone of your skin should be the main factor taken into account when deciding your color. If you have a more pink skin tone and freckles, a deep brown/black is not going to work, but a nice warm shade of red would look beautiful. Same as if you have an olive skin tone, finding a red ...
